About In Jesus Steps
In Jesus Steps is a discipleship ministry inspired by the classic book In His Steps by Charles Sheldon. After retiring from twenty-five years of ministry with Prison Alliance, Kathleen and Anders sensed God’s call to launch a ministry dedicated to helping believers follow Jesus faithfully and intentionally.
Our mission is to build small discipleship teams grounded in accountability, obedience, transparency, and prayer. These teams encourage believers to grow in their faith and to walk out the teachings of Jesus in practical, everyday ways.
In addition to in-person discipleship, we offer Bible lessons designed to guide spiritual growth and equip believers to live out the Great Commission. Our YouTube channel provides additional encouragement through prayer, biblical teaching, and messages that strengthen discipleship

Kathleen Skaar
Kathleen authored the In Jesus Steps Bible lessons and serves on the Board of Directors. She founded Prison Alliance in 1996 and led it for twenty-five years. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Florida, an MBA from Meredith College, and a Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Anders Skaar
Anders oversees the website, database systems, and Canvas LMS. He co-founded Prison Alliance and led multiple departments prior to retirement. Before that, he operated a consulting firm in microelectronics for twenty-one years. A native of Chicago, he studied electrical engineering at the University of Illinois.
Together, Kathleen and Anders equip believers, encourage spiritual growth, and provide practical tools to help followers of Jesus walk faithfully in His steps today.
